Moving to Australia is a significant change, and it’s not easy. Everything is different, and one of the biggest challenges is not having your native language. It can be a powerful blow, especially if your job requires excellent communication skills.
“To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.”
Winston Churchill
It’s important to remember that this change can be an opportunity for growth and self-improvement.
How did you feel when you first arrived in Australia?
It’s common to feel like you’re starting on a blank page, which can be both exciting and challenging. The weather, the people, the culture – it’s all new and unfamiliar.
Finding a job in a new country can be especially difficult.
Even if you were respected in your home country or had a successful business, it doesn’t necessarily translate to the new place. You may have gone to university and acquired a range of skills, but in a new country, you’re starting from scratch. It’s not easy, but it’s important to stay positive and keep pushing forward.
As for me, I’m Arda IDRISOGLU, an 18-year-old who created his own business, Media Services, in Turkey. I have taken more than 50 courses and worked with many communities. With my perfect and huge team, I created an art magazine that reached over 300,000 hits and became one of the reputable art magazines in the country. My three-page resume showcases my IT background and experience.
It may sound good, but the truth is, when you move to a new country, you may have to start from scratch again. I had to accept a job with a lower wage than what I was used to. However, it’s a necessary step to get my foot in the door and make connections. It’s like climbing a ladder – you have to take one step at a time.
To be happy despite everything
Despite the challenges, I am happy with my decision to move to Australia. It’s not always easy, but challenging the wind makes us stronger. I’m determined to keep working hard and pursuing the right path. This is only the beginning of my story, and I’m excited to see where it takes me.
